We often get asked "what formula is the best formula for my baby?" Many things come into play when looking for a formula for your child. In order for us to help you navigate this process we do have some questions for you to answer:

• Is your child currently breastfed or formula fed?
• If formula fed, what you currently feeding them?
• Does your 6+ month old eat many solids? (do not answer if under 6 months)
• Is there a cause for concern regarding allergies- i.e. do they need a hypoallergenic formula?
• Do you have a preference for Goat or Cow based formula? 

Once you start on your new formula, it takes anywhere from 2-4 weeks to really see if the formula is the right fit for you baby. This means that you would need 2-4 boxes/cans of formula to just do a test period.

Most infants will have an adjustment period, ranging from constipation, loose stools, or even being a bit more crabby than usual. As a result, you might find the transition a bit challenging. Unless a severe reaction happens-- i.e. hives, projectile vomiting, etc.-- we recommend powering through the 2-4 week window.

Although you can switch to a new formula quickly, we believe in doing a week long transition. This causes less distress to the digestive track and will likely omit the above reactions. We have created the guideline below in order to help you transition to a new formula:

• Day 1: 120 ml of old formula (4 scoops of formula) with 30 ml of new formula (1 scoop of formula).
• Day 2: Same as day 1
• Day 3: 90 ml of old formula (3 scoops of formula) with 60 ml of new formula (2 scoops of formula).
• Day 4: Same as day 3
• Day 5: 60 ml of old formula (2 scoops of formula) with 90 ml of new formula (3 scoops of new formula).
• Day 6: 30 ml of old formula (1 scoop of formula) with 120 ml of new formula (4 scoops of new formula).
• Day 7: 120 ml of new formula (5 scoops)
